455 14M: NASA's Next-Generation Rocket Marks a Milestone Towards Lunar Return

NASA's Artemis Program

NASA's Artemis program aims to return astronauts to the Moon by 2025, with the eventual goal of establishing a sustainable human presence on the lunar surface. The program is named after Artemis, the Greek goddess of the Moon.

455 14M: The Next-Generation Rocket

455 14M is the first in a series of new rockets called the Space Launch System (SLS). SLS is the most powerful rocket ever built and is capable of launching payloads into deep space. The first launch of SLS is scheduled for late 2022 and will carry an uncrewed Orion spacecraft around the Moon. The second launch, scheduled for 2024, will carry a crew of four astronauts to the Moon.

455 14M is a significant milestone in the Artemis program and brings us one step closer to returning humans to the Moon. The rocket will provide the power and capability to carry out the ambitious goal of establishing a sustainable human presence on the lunar surface.
